2/19/10 - Digital_Nation Question 2

The video discussed many ways in which the internet has changed personal relationships.

There was Bubbe, the 83 year old Jewish Grandma with the online cooking show, and the online gaming friendships and romances that have been created by World of Warcraft.  The video also discussed how the internet and use of digital media has changed even the family structure in many homes.

How is technology changing friendship, parenting and love?

  2. Technology has torn some friendships apart do to anger of them losing and frustration caused by someone being better than them. It also effects parenting because kids are so caught up in video games hat they rarely spend time with thier parents.

  3. I think that technology has affected families greatly, they spend less time together because they are texting, playing games on the internet, listening to music, etc.

  5. The technology today has deffinitally effected relationships. In a positive and negative way. For example... Playing games or texting or watching tv too much can keep your family apart. But if you didnt have a close family or any friends in the first place, the online live games where you can chat with other people is a positive thing because people who dont have the courage to go out and straight up talk to people for more comfortable getting to know them online and then meeting them at a game convention making close friends even closer....

But i think technology today is more of a negative thing more than a positive....

  6. Internet and texting is changing our way of living. Most kids will not pick up the phone to tell their parents were we are, they just text their parents. Also when there are playing game and can be connected to people around the world. With some people it is not only when playing game, it also leads to texting or hooking up. This is not safe because you don’t know who they really are. I think that kids should just spend more time focusing on the game then meeting new people.

  7. i think that technology has ruined how families interact with each other and how families spand time with each other.instead of talking to each other, families would rather just text i think that its not really a good way to communicate. also siblings are always too busy playing video games and fighting with eachother over who won that they aint really communicating in a good way.

  8. I think that technology is changing alot of how people interact. Meeting complete strangers online and becoming good friends is becoming more common, and people can even date each other on video games and meet on datong websites.
