In recent years digital media such as multi-player online games and social media networks have exploded in popularity.
Supporters argue that these technologies allow people to become more social and expand their network of friends and acquaintances. Opponents argue that they often lead to abuse, internet addiction, and/or harassment and cyber-bullying.
In today’s world of technological immersion, in what ways is technology helping us to develop more meaningful personal relationships? In what way is it hurting our "real-world" relationships with others?

Tecnology can help us by giving us the ability to connenct to anyone. It can hurt us by causeing a distraction between eachother.
ReplyDeleteI think that it just hurts all around. Because people can act like one thing on the computer, can be totally different in real life. And it dosn't help your communication skills because talking in person is way different than on the internet.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that this technology hurting us. In some ways I guess it can but mostly it doesn't. It obviously helps us be more social.
ReplyDeleteI think that the tecnology we have today is not as bad as what people make it sound. If you know how to use it then you wont get hurt by it.
ReplyDeletetecnology can help in some ways but in other ways it can be a bad thing. like with the teenagers theses days all they do is sit on the computer or on xbox live. people arestarting to get more lazy now that more tecnoloy is coming out. but then again it helps because youcan look up facts on the computer that you didnt know, and you can learn how to do something new.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nicole. People can say that they go walking all the time, or play sports but when you meet them in life they are lazy and are not in school. When we text we are not talking in proper English and we abbreviation when possible. Then you go to write a paper for school and you have no clue that you are using those term because you have gotten so use to it.
ReplyDeleteWe all do make good friends over the internet with MySpace, my yearbook, and face book. It gives us all a chance to help each other with one another’s problems or to even get to know how different people are from different state. I honestly don’t see someone becoming abusive due to the internet; if anything it makes you a better person
