Much of the video focused on education.
On one side there was the argument that technology and the distractions that it causes are having a negative effect on young people...poorer reading and writing skills and shorter attention spans.
On the other hand there was evidence that introducing technology into some schools has resulted in improved student attitudes, higher standardized test scores, and greater student achievement.
How do you think technology should be used in education? What do you think school will be like in 5 or 10 years in terms of use of digital technology?
I like the idea with the computers and thats what i tihnk it's going to be like in the future. Everyone relies on technolog. I think school would be so much better if we could learn with computers and i think it will make the enviroment better because your not really using trees.
ReplyDeleteIn my mind as someone that plays in a digital world, i dont think that technology is a bad thing for young kids.I dont think that too much technology for young kids would have a negitive affect on them.
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of technology in schools is a good thing. The internet sources have a lot of more information and you can get a lot of good programs to use. In the future I bet they will use technology even more than we do now.
ReplyDeleteBring technology into school sounds like a good idea to me, because you can get a lot more information from the internet then most text books. In ten years I think all students will have their own laptop as the Brooklyn school does.
ReplyDeletei like the idea of us working on the computers. but i dont thinkit would be a good idea if everyone wanted to use computers tolearn. and with everyone playing viedo games they never go outside and do something they always sit inside in there rooms.
ReplyDeleteI think that all schools should use computers, because I know with myself it is so much easier to type essays and do other different things. A computer gives us the chance to erase whatever we mess up on and it won’t look so nasty. I think in 5 to 10 years all schools will be using computers, because more and more jobs are using computers and we all need to learn our computer skills at a young age rather than old because it will be easier.
ReplyDeleteI agree with kelsi's post. She is right. And I believe that the computers will teach us more than the teachers will ever be able to. I also think that people will encourage the computers in the school. Personally, i think its a great thing!
ReplyDeletei agree the worlds attention span is decresing and pretty soon the world will loose track on books and wont read pages but just read computer screens. Also honestly i think a generation of technology is un healthy for youth and adoults. The thought of just sitting down all day and burn day light on a computer or phone doing nothing will not be good at all for peoples health.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good thing but yet and can ruin the way people pay attention to what the subject is. Another plus side is teachers have a lot of acess to many good programs on the internet. i think eventually technology will take over the schools in the future because there are so many sources and activities to do online.
ReplyDeleteThey way technology should be used is mainly in schools, more space with less books to carry around and easier to research. In the future I think everyone in highschool will be assigned a laptop or have to buy a laptop from the school to do all there class work and homework.
ReplyDeleteI think we should keep using the labtops and other things to help us learn more. In 5 to 10 years I think that we will not even be using books it will all be by computer.
ReplyDeletei agree with Alexis. it is both a good and bad idea. most kids now are not doing what there are to be doing because they want to play games. it is a good source to get the recent information. also i think that someday computer is how you will take school.
