4/23/10 - The Week in Pictures


This NASA photo shows the first images from the Solar Dynamics Observatory, a NASA spacecraft on a five-year mission to study the sun.

  1. i think the Volcano is very cool, but the picture of the suns solar flare is more of a break through. The astronauts on boad were on a five year mission to study the sun, thats pretty remarkable.

  3. I liked the picture on the front page just because it shows the design and types of energy in space. Its amazing what is in outer space and im sure there will be more pictures like these that are discovered

  6. My favorite picuture is the Back to Nature photo because it shows different culture with the little girl playing naked thats probably normal for her but children in the US dont usually play naked

  7. My favorite picture out of the week in pictures is the valcano Eyjafjallajokull. I like this picture because of the emense size of the ash and the electric storm inside the molten magma. This picture is also magnifyied by the dark blue background of the falling ice and the contrast between the bright red-yellow magma and black ash.

  9. One of my favorite pictures was 'praying for the dead' because the distortion the fire created makes it look lke someone painted it. I also like 'flying leap' because the breakwaters are cool looking. 'Taking to the skies' was very pretty, especially with the plane path in the background. I'd have to say that another picture I really liked was 'Cooling off' because the polluted water was almost metallic looking.

  10. The only one i really liked was the Ring of Fire, because its not everyday that we get to see the sun upclose like that.
