This is the article, and video of the USS New York. Where was the ship constructed? Why is this boat so significant to New York city? What is some of the boat made out of? Do you think it is a memorial to those who lost their lives or is it disrespectful in any way? In your opinion why do you think they chose to use the material they did to make the ship?

  1. The USS New York was built in Norfolk, Va. This boat symbolizes that American can't be destroyed because we will just rebuild it. The boat is significant to New York because the vessel is named for the state after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.It is made out of 7.5 tons of steel from the twin towers that was cast into its bow.

I belive this is a memorial to thoses who lost their lives that day because now they have a new home not on ground zero. Friends and family no have a place to visit and see the new beauty of the twin towers. Anyway there really wasnt anything else that New York could do with all that metal anyway but to remelt it. I believe they used metal from the twin towers to build a moving memorial for those who lost their lives.
